This trim is for safety and a clean clear crown – no coconut growth, no coconuts dropping, safety for people below.  There is also a beauty to a well-balanced clean-out trim; no congested material at the base of the fronds allows light to play through the arching greenery emphasizing the palm’s beauty.

This trim is recommended for resort and rental properties where owners and managers want to minimize liability concerns.

Coconuts and fronds are very heavy and falling from heights over 20 feet can cause severe injury or even death if they drop on a passerby. With a full clean out trim we remove developing rack of nuts so they never get to a dangerous weight. We also fully remove all debris from the crown to discourage pests from nesting.

You choose the shape of the crown; whether it is full and shady or high and tight to allow more light. If you imagine the lowest fronds as clock arms, on a full trim they would point to 9 and 3, on a high and tight trim they would be 10 and 2.
